Exploration of solitude, identity and human relationships, based on theories derived mainly from psychotherapy and the personal experiences that a variety of individuals shared with the author. References and a bibliography are included. The New Zealand-born author, now an Australian resident, is a writer, psychotherapist and co-founder of The Women's Press (UK). Her other works include the novel 'Running Backwards Over Sand'. This reissue of a volume first published in 1991 has a new jacket and smaller format to coincide with the publication of a companion volume, 'The Intimacy and Solitude Self-Therapy Book'. An audio-book version of both books, read by the author, was released 1993.
