Lucy Cat at the Beach

Lucy, the very clever cat, stars in this entertaining title that teaches a second language to beginning readers. If children's first language is English they can learn some basics of Spanish--and if their first language is Spanish they can start to learn English. The unusual feature in all Lucy the Cat books is a series of picture-strip cartoons. The strip at each page's top tells Lucy's story with words and dialogue balloons in Spanish. The same pictures run across the bottom of the page with words in English. The pictures are in color, the stories are amusing, and almost before kids know it, they're learning a second language.
